  The 16th of September 1982 is a date, that should never be forgotten. It is the date of the massacre in the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps in Lebanon. The massacre lasted over 48 hours and took the lifes of around 2000 innocent Palestinian refugees and Lebanese Muslims, men, women and children. 
Hundreds of Christian Lebanese Phalangists entered the refugee camp at 6 in the morning and started the cold-blooded murdering of Palestinian families with the aid of Israeli Forces. They shot infants, raped woman and cut open men on their way throug the camps and left the survivors traumatized for life. 
The Israeli forces were involved in the slaughtering of habitants of the refugee camps, and knew about the plan several days before the massacre began, but did not take any steps to stop the Lebanese forces before or during the attack. 
Israeli Forces instead surrounded the two refugee camps and witnessed the Lebanese Phalangists as they continued to kill and torture thousands of innocent people. 
Today, 33 years later, we remember the victims of this massacre and their loved ones who were left scarred for life by this henious and cruel act of evil, while we still see the ethnical cleansing of Palestinians being carried out under the control of the Israeli Forces everyday and while we keep fighting for a change.
