Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه ) narrates that once:

Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه و سلم) enquired from the Sahaabah (رضي الله عنهم):

“Who amongst you is fasting today?” Hadhrat Abu Bakr Siddeeq (رضي الله عنه) replied: “I am fasting today.”

Nabi (صلي الله عليه و سلم) then enquired: “Who amongst you had visited the sick today?” Hadhrat Abu Bakr Siddeeq (رضي الله عنه) replied: “I had visited a sick person today.”

Nabi (صلي الله عليه و سلم) further enquired: “Which of you had participated in a Janaazah today?” Hadhrat Abu Bakr Siddeeq (رضي الله عنه) replied: “I had participated in a Janaazah today.”

Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه و سلم) then asked, “Which of you has fed a poor pe rson today?” Hadhrat Abu Bakr (رضي الله عنه) replied: “I have fed a poor person today.”

Thereafter, Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه و سلم) said: “The one who possesses all these qualities will definitely enter Jannah.”(مسلم)
